Equine Artist Lian Meaney

About Lian Meaney
I am a freehand artist working in a variety of mediums, on paper and canvas. For the past few years I've concentrated on honing my drafting skills, working mostly in charcoal until I felt competent to move into more colourful mediums, such as inks and acrylics.
I live in the beautiful Pioneer Valley, near the township of Finch Hatton, on a farm surrounded by the mountains of Eungella National Park, with a little herd of horses, a family of rescues and arabian derivatives. Not forgetting my two rescue dogs Shadow and Zoe.
Art is a fresh start every day in my eyes, I dont have much of a plan, sometimes as the work unfolds it takes on a life of its own ... the animal steps out of the image for me. I genuinely love what I do, and it never ceases to be an education and a joy.
I have work in collections both here and overseas, in England, Scotland, Egypt, Canada and the U.S.
Having completed many commissions in the past, this year I have concentrated on more of my own original work, and the multi media handpainted limited edition prints, In the next phase I hope to start working on a much larger scale. love working big, the bigger the better.
